Scott Weiland and the Wildabouts Kick Off Tour in Niagara Falls
Scott Weiland didn't waste any time after getting booted from the multi platinum selling band Stone Temple Pilots. Instead, he took to the one place he can really call home...the road. Joining Mr. Weiland on the road are the band The Wildabouts who have backed Weilands solo efforts for years.
The tour was promoted nationwide as the Purple to the Core tour with both albums being played in their entirety. Instead, only about 16 songs mixed with STP, Weilands Solo material, and some cover songs consisted of the setlist. Was it an honest mistake? A ploy to sell more tickets? Either way, there were plenty of disappointed fans that thought they were in for something special.
That's not to say that Weiland and crew did not deliver. They blasted through a set of greatest hits from STP along with a few deep cuts and a great cover from David Bowie. The crowd, regardless of how bitter they might have been, ate it up and were fist pumping and singing along to the hits like "Big Empty", "Interstate Love Song", and "Plush".
Here's the entire setlist from the evening:
Crackerman
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Wicked Garden
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Paralysis
Naked Sunday
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Creep
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
The Jean Genie
(David Bowie cover)
Kitchenware & Candybars
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Where the River Goes
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Mountain Song
(Jane’s Addiction cover)
Big Empty
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Can't Stand Me Now
(The Libertines cover)
Still Remains
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Vasoline
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Interstate Love Song
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
Encore:
Roadhouse Blues
(The Doors cover)
Sex Type Thing
(Stone Temple Pilots song)
The Rock Star Tribune was able to shot Scott Weiland's set. Check out a few of the photos below and let us know what you think! Also, follow us on Instagram and Twitter for contest and more photos.

How Does Unlimited Sampling of 60 Craft Beers Sound?
Pretty great, right? What better way to spend Saturday February 2nd then checking out the biggest Irish Pub in Buffalo. The Bills may have had a bunk season and the Sabres aren't exactly in the Winning column, but that doesn't mean Buffalo doesn't know how to have a good time.
Not only will you be sampling 60 brews with a commemorative souvenir cup, but there will be live music from Stone Row, plenty of food vendors to feed your beer fueled hunger, and other surprises lined up. There's two sessions to check out, the first day drinking session is from 1PM-4PM and the second is from 6-9PM. Can you manage both? A true Irishman can...
It's at the legendary Connecticut Street Armory at 184 Connecticut Street in Buffalo, NY. And no worries, once you've had your fun there are plenty of taxis waiting outside to bring you to the next destination.
Check out the official website for the Buffalo Winter Brewfest by clicking here.
Or, grab your tickets before they sell out (and they will) plus get a discount by clicking here.
Cheers - we'll see you Saturday. Come say hello to be featured on the site!

Heaven's Basement gives the Falls a dosage of ROCK
Even with frontman Aaron Buchanan feeling under the weather, Heaven's Basement gave headliners Buckcherry a run for their money on Sunday night January 20th at the Rapid Theater in Niagara Falls, NY.
It's rare to find a band nowadays that sticks to the basics of guitars, bass, drums and vocals with no bells and whistles. If you're good enough, it shouldn't matter. Heaven's Basement delivers a raw punch you in the face set showcasing songs from their upcoming album Filthy Empire. It's the band's debut full length album and is now slated for release on February 4th, 2013 in the UK.
Heaven's Basement is a tight band that has a polished sound and style that's impossible not to like. The energy was there from start to finish, and it looked like they were playing to a stadium of 50,000 people (which they did opening for Bon Jovi in 2008).
Here's the setlist from the show:
1. Unbreakable
2. Can't Let Go
3. Fire, Fire
4. I'm Electric
5. Nothing Left To Lose
6. Reign On My Parade
7. Executioner's Day
If you have a chance to check them out, do it. You won't regret it. To get more info on the band and check out their upcoming dates visit their official website at: http://heavensbasement.com/

The Legendary Mohawk Place to closes
After over 20 years, many beers, and even more memories, the legendary Mohawk Place in downtown Buffalo, NY has closed their doors for good.
Here are a few memories from those that knew the place the best:
“My best memories of the Mohawk: playing there after Thursday in the Square, especially on the sidewalk out front, with a crowd spilling out into the street, moon over head, couple 12 packs of cold PBRs being passed among the band mates to beat the heat. Man, a night like that’d be nice right now, eh? And I’ll just miss the glorious grit of the place. One of my favorite shows there: Justin Townes Earle on a cold, snowy Monday, the night after the Super Bowl a couple years ago. His guitar playing and energy really impressed me, well beyond expectations. Also miss Pete at the front door, always there with a handshake, a smile and a kind word. RIP Mohawk.” - Alan Farmelo
“Mohawk Place is one of the only venues that I think I played at every phase of my career, which speaks to the versatility of the room. When I was 19-years-old, I had an acoustic duo with Buffalo songwriter Michael Arden, and Mohawk Place was one of the few clubs we could actually get booked into. Later on, when my band the Push Stars signed a record deal with Capitol, we played a co-bill there with Scott Carpenter. I remember Scott was upset about $ after the show, and blamed us for getting overpaid because we were ‘major label.’
“And then I played there a few years ago as a solo artist, and my impression was that the club was getting better over the years. To me, any venue that stays open more than 5 years had figured out the delicate balance between art and commerce, and it is not easy. I’ve seen many venues shut down over the years, with their idealism shot down into the reality that euro-dance club and college frat bars pay the bills without having to deal with drunken bass players, arrogant singers, stoned sound men, etc. ... but it is those magic moments when the band is grooving, the sound is blaring, and the beer is flowing that stay woven in our souls, that we never really forget.” - Joe McCarthy
The Mohawk Place's "Last Waltz" is on Saturday January 12th, 2013.

Good News for Stone Temple Pilots fans...

Get Shipwrecked with Godsmack, Korn, and more...
Shipwrecked has become a yearly tradition not to be missed for rock and roll fans and this year seems to be no exception. If a bill like Godsmack, POD, Sevendust, Lit, Helmet, and others wasn't enough, KoRn has just been added to the line up as a co headliner for the ShipWrecked excursion.
“I did a cruise last year DJing as J Devil, and it was a blast — such a great time. We’re really looking forward to doing it this year as Korn with Monster Energy and all these great musicians. This is going to be an unbelievable event," said KoRn frontman Jonathon Davis.
It's all going down this November 27th and you can be a part of 4 days of music and mayhem. Not to mention, you'll have plenty of food at the all you can eat buffets after a long day of music.

Adelitas Way Rock the Falls on the Avalanche Tour!
The Avalanche Tour came to Niagara Falls on April 16th to the SOLD OUT Rapids Theater. Adelitas Way hit the stage before Shinedown and quickly brought the crowd to a frenzy with their fierce opener "The Collapse". What most people don't realize is the solid line up of musicians that comprise Adelitas Way. Keith and Robert can absolutely shred and really showcased that throughout the set. In addition, you have Trevor and Derek providing the drums and bass with a thundering beat. Then there is frontman Rick DeJesus who commands attention from everyone in the venue including the bartenders.
The guys have been touring relentlessly and it's starting to pay off as their fanbase continues to grow and their live show is becoming a well oiled machine. It's clear to see that these guys will be around for awhile and will be a name to watch out for....they're here to stay.

Alec Baldwin Returns in "The Big Knife"
The Road Less Traveled Productions hosted an evening with the one and only Alec Baldwin on Friday January 27th, 2012 for a reading of "The Big Knife" by Clifford Odets. Although Baldwin's fame has only increased as of late, he still made the trek to Buffalo to support the non profit theater company.
The beginning of the show displayed a stunning video of the Road Less Traveled Productions and how they have had an impact on the Buffalo community with their theater performances. Then, the cast of 11 actors along with Baldwin hit the stage and wasted no time getting into character. While this was only a reading, there was energy in the air with every scene that kept the crowd captivated and engaged. The show went off without a hitch with everyone in attendance realizing what a special treat it was to be entertained by the talented Baldwin and RLTP crew.
Upon the end of the performance, the Road Less Traveled Productions announced their 2012-2013 line up for the year with an early bird subscription rate of $99 for the season.
The following shows will be at the RLTP theater at 639 Main Street, Buffalo, NY:

The Return of Alec Baldwin to Buffalo on January 27
Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) today announced what will be a very
special evening of theater on January 27, 2012—when Alec Baldwin returns to Buffalo, NY to read Clifford Odets’ play The Big Knife in a benefit for RLTP. The event is scheduled to take place at the University at Buffalo (UB) Center for the Arts (CFA) in Amherst, NY, on Friday, January 27, 2012.
The professionally directed staged reading is scheduled to begin at 8:00 p.m. (doors open at 7:30 p.m.) in the CFA Mainstage Theatre. Those holding “VIP” top-tier tickets—either via purchase or event sponsorship—will be invited to a private pre-show cocktail reception, beginning at 5:30 p.m., with a catered dinner to follow, at 6:30 p.m., on the stage of CFA Drama Theatre. Mr. Baldwin will appear at the dinner and read in the play.
The evening’s official title, The Return of Alec Baldwin, marks the third time in RLTP’s groundbreaking history that Mr. Baldwin has performed in an event to benefit the Buffalo-based non-profit theater. Currently in its eighth year, RLTP has produced more than 20 new and original works by local playwrights; at least three of these plays already have gone on to stage production elsewhere in the country. Baldwin previously appeared in Buffalo to benefit RLTP in readings of Yasmina Reza’s Art (in July 2006) and David Mamet’s Speed-the-Plow (in January 2009). special evening of theater on January 27, 2012—when Alec Baldwin returns to Buffalo, NY to read Clifford Odets’ play The Big Knife in a benefit for RLTP.
Underride and Lady Gaga...What?!
The Rock Star Tribune covers all types and genres of music but there is nothing we like more than a strait forward rock band. Underride is hitting the scene...hard! The boys from Seattle are reviving the mundane "Modern Rock" scene with a fresh sound. They've had success on the west coast building their fan base and opening for some major national acts already like 30 Seconds to Mars and Static X.
They'll be on the road throughout December supporting their new disc "Distorted Nation". Although many would tear apart a rock group who covers a Lady Gaga song...these guys somehow pull it off with a great rendition of "Paparazzi". Just give it a shot and let us know what you think of it.
Check out their official site at http://www.underride.net/

REM Calls it Quits...but they feel fine.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
More than thirty years after beginning their run, rock legends R.E.M. have broken up as a band.
The group released a statement on its website announcing their split, writing:
"To our Fans and Friends: As R.E.M., and as lifelong friends and co-conspirators, we have decided to call it a day as a band. We walk away with a great sense of gratitude, of finality, and of astonishment at all we have accomplished. To anyone who ever felt touched by our music, our deepest thanks for listening." R.E.M.Formed in 1980 in Athens, Georgia, the band became alt-rock icons and were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. The group was comprised of lead man Michael Stipe, bassist Mike Mills, guitarist Peter Buck and drummer Bill Berry; Berry left the band in 1997, leading to the near dissolution of the group while recording the album that followed.
Their hit 1992 album, "Out of Time," was nominated for seven Grammys, earning the group three.

Daughtry takes a day off from the studio to Rock Niagara Falls
Chris Daughtry is famous from American Idol and although he did not come out on top, he has carved his niche in the music industry with mix of alternative rock that attracts a diverse crowd of people. The band is currently very busy in the studio writing and recording new songs for the yet to be named new record. Chris did let the crowd know that the record will be out by the end of 2011 which resulted in a huge cheer from fans. The band came in full force ready to show the Seneca Niagara Casino Events Center a good time.
It was a packed house at the events center as the entire place rose to their feet when the band hit the stage opening with "Everytime you Turn Around". Daughtry even threw in a few surprises as the band left the stage and Chris decided to test some new material they have been working on. He explained that the song was in the infancy stages so it would just be him and his guitar performing "Rescue Me". The song had all the elements of a classic Daughtry hit with a catchy guitar riff and melodic chorus. The setlist was full of hits along with some deep cuts from Daughtry's records and even a cover song to end the show. Check out the full setlist:

RHCP to Release New Record in August
The Red Hot Chilli Peppers are set to release their first album in over five years at the end of this summer with a tentative release date of August 31st, 2011. This is huge news for Peppers fans especially with a new guitarist.
I'm With You will be the first Red Hot Chili Peppers album to not feature former lead guitarist John Frusciante. Frusciante departed from the band in 2009 and was replace by Josh Klinghoffer, a long time friend of the band.
"He's got a terrific sound," drummer Chad Smith said of Klinghoffer in an interview. "He's very musical, he's full of ideas - we're enjoying working with him. Things are coming along pretty easily, so that's always a good sign."
"I wouldn't say it's radically different. Josh is just Josh. He has his own thing, and that's why we love him," Smith said. "There is no question - this is a beginning," lead vocalist Anthony Kiedis said, "Yeah, the sun is just coming up here."
Gather reports that the band's new sound is a bit "harder" and "darker-edged" than it has been in the past. "I know when we write mediocre stuff, and when we write good stuff," said Kiedis, "I can't wait to go out and play this." RHCP has released some South America tour dates, but no other dates have been confirmed yet.

Tonic takes their Lemon Parade to the Bear's Den
Every so often fans are able to catch a show they know is special and Tonic's performance at the Bear's Den was one of those shows. After opening with evening with "Rose", front man Emerson Hart explained that the evening would be open and loose kind of like the band playing in his parent's living room.
The band and the crowd were interacting and even buying drinks for one another. It's rare to get an inside look of how a band interacts with each other on stage and discussing songs they haven't played in years. After this discussion, they decided to play an old title track "Lemon Parade" which the new drummer Miles had no idea how to play. This lead to bass player Dan Lavery to jump on the kit and play drums for the tune. A very unique show for everyone in attendance. Check out more information on their new CD and remaining tour dates throughout the summer at their official website http://www.tonic-online.com/

CHICKENFOOT, the rock supergroup featuring former VAN HALEN singer Sammy Hagar and bassist Michael Anthony, guitarist Joe Satriani andRED HOT CHILI PEPPERS drummer Chad Smith, has finished mixing its sophomore album, which is expected to arrive before the end of the year.Anthony states about the CD via his Facebook page, "It's a lot heavier than the first record and I can't wait to get it out there! The first single should hit the airwaves sometime this summer with the full enchilada to follow in the fall."
The new CHICKENFOOT CD's initial recording sessions were overseen byMike Fraser, a Canadian producer, engineer and mixer who has previously worked with AC/DC, METALLICA and AEROSMITH. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "No Change", "Who's Next", "Astral Years" and "I Ain't Got You, I Got The Two By Blues".
Hagar revealed in March that CHICKENFOOT's second album will be titledChickenfoot IV" (Four). He said, "It's the working title but I guarantee it'll stick." He added, "We were all like, 'What are we going to call the second record? Well, 'Chickenfoot II' (Two). And we're going, 'We can't call it'Chickenfoot II', that's too obvious.' And pretty soon [drummer] Chad Smith, I'm sure was the guy, he's going, 'Let's call it 'Chickenfoot IV'. And we all cracked up and said, 'Right on, that's it.' And we haven't talked about it since."
CHICKENFOOT drummer Chad Smith recently confirmed that he won't tour with CHICKENFOOT this year in support of the band's second album due to scheduling conflicts with his main group, the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS.
CHICKENFOOT's self-titled debut disc came out in June 2009 and was certified gold for sales of more than 500,000 copies.

Finger Eleven turns Club Infinity Electric

Scott From Finger Eleven
Finger Eleven brought their Life Turns Electric tour to Club Infinity on Friday night May 20th, 2011. It's been a few years since the boys have made it to the Western New York region so the crowd was primed and pumped for the show. After being in the business for over 10 years, they have a polished, professional sound with the heart and intensity to match. Check out the setlist that covered everything from their extensive career:

Sick Puppies, Adelitas Way, & Framing Hanley Rock the Town Ballroom in Buffalo, NY
The Sick Puppies kicked off their headlining tour in support of Tri-Polar and Polar Opposite in Buffalo on March 15th, 2011 at the Town Ballroom. Great all around show with every band bringing something new to the table. The Sick Puppies have changed up their setlist from previous tours and now bring the crowd to a frenzy opening with "Odd One" and not letting up in the set until they break into a cool acoustic set that captivated everyone in the Town Ballroom. The structure of the show had the crowd in complete control of the Puppies....a perfect headliner! There were a few surprises along the way in the setlist with some covers and unexpected tunes, but we'll leave that to you to see when you check out the show. A great night...do not miss this tour. To check out the Sick Puppies dates, news, and download the Polar Opposite record check out their official site by clicking here.
We have some great footage from the show along with an interview with Adelitas Way! They have a new record called Home School Valedictorian dropping on June 7th and hearing it live will blow you away. If this show is within a 6 hour radius, there's no reason you shouldn't be there. They've been off the road for 7 months and are ready to bring it to anyone in attendance. They played the perfect mix of everything from old to new including Dirty Little Thing and Invincible to new material like the newest single which can be found on iTunes called Sick. To check out the interview with Rick DeJesus click here. Check out the official Adelitas Way website here.
Framing Hanley had a rough trip to Buffalo with their bus breaking down in Erie about an hour away from the venue but they made the stage and borrowed equipment from the brothers in Adelitas Way. No one could tell, and the energy and crowd engagement was unprecedentted for one of the so called "Opening Bands". Framing Hanley has a following in Buffalo and has for some time, so there were people there in full force to see their band. The sound was on point at the Town Ballroom, everything sounded crisp and tight...a testament to the fact the boys in the band have been on the road just coming off of a European tour with Good Charlotte supporting the newest release "A Promise to Burn". Music as a Weapon Tour 2011
It's back again! The Music as a Weapon Tour is on its sixth installment and for the first time ever it has two headliners. Sharing the headlining spotlight with Disturbed are the road warriors in KoRn. Also on the bill are In This Moment and the always impressive Sevendust rounding out a top notch rock show which can be hard to find in these times. The show had a great flow and all the bands incorporated a solid mix of new tunes mixed with old favorites.
"[Both bands] just finished great tours," Korn frontman Jonathan Davis, in a press release, said of how the tour initially came together. "We headlined Mayhem and Disturbed headlined Uproar. The Disturbed guys came out to see us play in Chicago and we got to talking about doing something together. We both agreed that as cool as those types of tours are, they usually only hit major markets, and we both agreed that a lot of our fans just don't live in those cities, etc., so we thought it would be cool to team up, put a big show together, and hit every great place that those big tours never get to."
Here are the rest of the dates for the Music as a Weapon Tour. Also, be sure to check out a full montage of photos from the show. Click here for Disturbeds set and click here to see KoRn tear it up.

Alter Bridge Hits #1
Just two weeks after claiming the #2 spot on the Active and Mainstream Rock Charts, Alter Bridge have stormed the top overtaking the #1 spot with their single, “Isolation.” The single, from the recently released ABIII, highlights another milestone for the band becoming the group’s first #1 single in their career. Each of the band’s two previous albums had singles land at #2, “Open Your Eyes” from their debut album One Day Remains and “Rise Today” from their critically acclaimed sophomore effort Blackbird.
“Mark, Scott, Brian and I want to convey our sincerest gratitude to everyone who supported us at radio and helped get "Isolation" to number one. After slugging it out for the last 7 years it's amazing to finally get to experience something as cool as this. Thank you all!” states front man Myles Kennedy. "Isolation" is just one of those songs that resonated with listeners immediately. We cannot be happier for Mark, Myles, Brian and Scott on their long overdue achievement and finally getting to #1. All of us at EMI are proud to represent Alter Bridge,” adds Bill Carroll, Senior Vice President, Promotion at EMI.
